Employees at a company communications briefing asked SeaWorld
officials about a possible sale to the BlackStone Group which
owns a 50 percent stake of Universal Orlando Resort.
Cypress
Gardens and Splash Island Waterpark is now Closed!
Cypress Gardens and Splash Island Water Park in Winter Haven
ceased operations on Sept. 23. The iconic, 150-acre theme park
-- one of Florida’s oldest tourist attractions --
was known for its water skiing shows, Southern Belles, rides,
zoo and gardens. The owner, Mulberry-based Land South Adventures
LLC, said in a prepared statement that it has "explored
numerous management frameworks" and exhausted every possible
approach to keep the park running in its traditional form.
